Born in 1938 Leoben, Austria. Between 1959 and 1963, studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Linz, Austria. After 1964, Horst Widmann lived and worked in Paris as art director in various media groups. In the 80’s, he began his first achievements in x-rays, taken in collotype printing by “Arte”. They were exhibited at the “Bibliothèque Nationale de Paris” in 1992. Meanwhile, he produced a serie of paintings “Urban”, acrylic on canvas, created from his own photographs. |

One of these paintings was exhibited at the 50th Salon d'Art Contemporain de Montrouge. Thanks to considerable progress in digital image processing in the 90’s, Horst Widmann reworked his x-ray images and broadened the range by seeking new subjects. In a surprising alchemy, computer fuses with organic and transparency gives us the freedom to explore a new visual expression.
